time and circumstance are playing
a tug of war with our hearts
and the battle wages across hundreds of miles.

i threw away the white flag a long time ago.
i know i thought i would be on here a lot more but the corporate world snagged me up last minute and i've been working some brutal hours. on top of that i've been yearning to be in his arms again, counting down to an unknown day when we will be in each others warm presence again.

this isn't very good but longing has tied up my tongue.

the last sentence ends the poem dramatically, and it portrays the way the person realizes such feelings are inevitable :) short but powerful, thank you for posting this :)
